For those leading a team:

If you have an employee who isn’t performing, give them a task that they are inspired to rise up to.

For example, if an employee has a dream to become a business owner, give them a task that will foster growth in entrepreneurship. Promise them an increase in responsibility if they perform the task given.

You might be asking, but won’t they leave me? At some point perhaps they will, but you would have forged a path for their success and formed an ally for your own success. And think about it, no employee stays forever unless they are owners. Good begets good. Learn to be a leader of service and you’ll win every time.
